For one of the final Perplexus Tour stops Amanda and I drove out to Seaford, Long Isalnd. Seaford is a beautiful town that has the best of coastal New York and is only a short drive or train ride from the city.

We were only able to stay at Fun Stuff Toys for a few hours but we definitely made the best of it. Many parents stopped by the store to pick up toys and games for their kids who were at summer camp. They loved how easy the Perplexus was to travel with and how it is a great game for all ages. It was fun showing parents how to use the SuperPlexus and some of them even video taped themselves playing to show their kids.

Just a little Perplexus Family bonding time!

We also had a great Super-plexer stop by the store to visit! He and his Dad love to play Perplexus together and race to get through the levels. See the picture of them trying out their Perplexus skills on the SuperPlexus, and on Michael McGinnis’ original Perplexus prototype, Equilibre Hable (photo above). To learn more about the Equilibre Hable and how Perplexus came to be click here!

The SuperPlexus is almost as big as him!

Perplexus is a great family game and we love hearing stories of how Perplexus helps to create memories and stronger family bonds. Is your whole family addicted to Perplexus? Tell us about it!

The Perplexus Lexus made its final stop of the tour in New York City. Our time in New York included a stop in FAO Schwarz and at HomBoms. HomBoms is a locally owned chain within the city, specializing in unique gifts, gift wrapping and an informed, friendly staff.

It was an extremely sunny day in the city, so many of the customers who came into the store were decked out in sun protective gear, which included cute hats and shades. The style reminded Grace and I of how well Perplexus can fit into outdoor activities because they do not need bateries, and they do not have the annoying glare that comes with most electronic puzzle games. All you need is Perplexus and you are ready for a day in the sun!

Hope you all are enjoying your summer, and Perplexus!

Half an hour from Harrisburg PA and a few short blocks from Hershey PA (the home of Hershey Park), sits one of the largest toy stores the Perplexus Tour has visited: Toys on the Square.

Toys on the Square is located at 22 East Main St. Hummelstown, PA just a 1/2 mile from the Hershey Amusement Park and Chocolate World. This toy store carries any toy your mind can think of, including a large selection of Perplexus! When you stop in to pick up your Perplexus, take a trip to the back of the store and check out their pottery room where parties and families can pick out their own pottery and paint it. Toys on the Square has over 100 different pottery molds to choose from and they will even ship the finished product to your home.

Amanda and I had a great time at this location. We love to see the smiles Perplexus brings to kids and families alike. We had a family celebrating a birthday come to visit the SuperPlexus.

After a fun day at Toys on the Square we took the Perplexus Lexus to Hershey’s Chocolate World located in Hershey Park. If you are taking a family vacation to Hershey Park this summer make sure to put Toys on the Square on your list of places to visit in the Hersey area.

The Fun-est Toy Store Ever is located on 24 E.

We set up our display outside on Main Street, and had a great time showing off Perplexus to the residents of Ephreta. Families and pedestrians passing down the street stopped by to see the Superplexus, and how much fun Grace and I were having trying to master Epic that day. I was in a challenge with a seven year old, playing the “Race to 27.” I lost, which only fuels the manatra that slow and steady wins the race.

Storms were brewing when we landed in Butler, Pennsylvania with a tornado warning to greet Grace and I!. Luckily for us we had the coolest, and probably safest location in the area…a toy store modeled after a Stealth Bomber. Throughout our trip, Grace and I have used sites such as RoadsideAmerica.com to help us discover interesting things to see on our Perplexus Tour, and Playthings Etc. was unique enough to be mentioned on this site. Located on Route 8, it is a major tourist attraction in Butler, pulling in tour buses and families traveling.

At this location (going perfectly with the roadtrip theme) we had a family that traveled over an hour to come and enjoy the Superplexus! We alway love when this happens because it truly shows the reach of Perplexus, and it is always nice to meet a superfan. Throughout our journey, we have heard that Perplexus is used as a way to bond families, through talking about tricks, and competing about who got further that day. This was no different with the family that came to see us in Butler, and we were able to give them some tricks, such as the jump from 20 to 63. We hope that this will help to fuel the competition at home.

If you ever find yourself on Route 8, Playthings Etc. is a must see!

Amanda

We had a super Perplexus fan visit at King Arthur’s Court Toys! He and his parents drove over an hour to come and see the Superplexus and try their luck at solving it! It was worth the drive though, as he worked his way up to a score of 73 on the Superplexus! This is quite a feat!

Many families braved the hot and humid July day to come and see the Perplexus Lexus and play the SuperPlexus. Many kids commented on how they studied the SuperPlexus on our Perplexus Facebook page tour videos! If you have not visited the Facebook page take a look and view some great SuperPlexus video footage from our tour.

The Indianapolis Children’s Museum is one of the largest in the Nation. With five levels of learning, the museum is a great place to spend a few hours or even the whole day!

Perplexus fit right in at the Children’s Museum, and was a main attraction as families walked in. The museum encourages learning and creates an interactive environment where education and fun turn become one. Perplexus (cover your ears, kids) is a great educational toy. It’s labyrinth-like structure supports dexterity, hand eye coordination and spatial learning.

A little sibling rivalry on Perplexus

Kids of all ages enjoyed playing with Perplexus and we even had some special visitors like Rex, who is pictured above. Kids love Perplexus because it is challenging yet fun. Throughout this trip we have just as many parents as children enjoying playing Perplexus, making it a great family game.

Due to the high volume of visitors we were not able to do any contests, but that did not stop siblings from racing each other on the giant SuperPlexus! Families of all sizes joined in the fun, taking turns to see who could go the furthest.

The family that games together stays together

The Children’s Museum in Indianapolis is a definite must-see, and don’t forget to check out the A-Maze-Ing gift shop on the way out to pick up your very own Perplexus!

The downtown location on 900 North Michigan Avenue hosted us, the Superplexus, and Inventor Michael McGinnis and we could not have been happier to be there.

Don’t be surprised to see celebrities while shopping at Galt toys. In our three hours at the location we saw someone known for their brewing skills and a well known reality TV celebrity chef! Perplexus is for everybody, even celebs!

At this location, probably because everybody was out enjoying the beautiful Chicago weather, we were a little slow. Michael was on hand though, so that always helps to spice up the event. Michael showed myself and Grace his other larger models of Perplexus and Labyrinths that he made for museums and private owners. You can view these Ah-Maz-Ing models for yourself at superplexus.com .

Stay Perplexed!

Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL

The Marbles The Brain Store locations originated in Chicago and have grown to have over 100 locations across the US. If there is not one by your home town, there is no need to worry, as there are more set to open this year!

Amanda and I got to tour a few Marbles The Brain Stores while in Chicago and we were equally impressed by how knowledgeable and fun the store and staff were at each location.

We had a large crowd at this Marbles location as whole families came to the picturesque Lincoln Square store on N. Lincoln Ave to participate in the SuperPlexus fun. Perplexus inventor, Michael McGinnis was also present to help frustrated perplexus-ers get through some sticky parts in the game.

Here are some of Michael’s tips that helped Amanda and I when we were first starting off:

Tip 1: When attempting to move from 30-31 (right before the purple tight-rope) make sure you angle the game in a straight line. This allows the user to move the marble straight across the small green path with a slight flick forward.

Perplexus Epic in action

Tip 2:This tip applies to the Perplexus EPIC- To make getting over the blue sea-saw (barrier 3) easier, the trick is to move slowly and flick the ball up (slightly) as the sea-saw moves downward. This makes it easier to land the marble in the ledge of barrier 4.

Are there any Perplexus tips that you recommend? We want to hear them!
